Searching for any early info on the BLAKENEY family. At least one branch of this family left County Limerick for the IOM in the early- to mid- 1700s. I do not know which parish they settled in. There was a falling out between the head of this household and his brother, William BLAKENEY, as cited in the latter's autobiography. He did not specify which of his brothers this was -- he simply said that afterward, the brother "fled to the Isle of Man." I need to find some way of documenting the names of this brother and his children. I especially need to find out if one of the children left IOM around 1750 (or shortly before) for America.
Can anyone suggest resources -- books, online, or repositories -- that I can check for information like this?
