Manx Pioneers to 1850, Daniel Corlett

Hello Tim,

I have had a chance to study your gr-gr-grandparents' genealogy on your website. What an amazing amount of information you have posted!

It was nice to see that what I was able to infer from on-line sources (Necrology File, IGI, and Cuyahoga marriage index) plus some early Cleveland histories, FITS with your research findings.

I only have a couple of questions:

You have a picture of Margaret's gravestone inscription, with the date of death (clearly "etched in stone") of 1851. According to the 1860 census, Daniel and Margaret were both living in the home of their son John. The census, of course is infamous for errors, but then, too, the gravestone looks to be newer than 1873, so was perhaps erected on the basis of family oral history, and could be off. (Could she have died in 1861?) I wish Margaret was in the Necrology File!

Also, your question re Daniel Corlett's place of death--I feel it was probably at his son John's, not his grandson.

What do you think?

Again, thanks for pointing out your genealogy. Great stuff!

Lois
