Re: Kennaugh-Moaney Moo
In Response To: Kennaugh-Moaney Mooar ()

I was interested in your query and wonder if this helps at all.
My mother,Eleanor Kennaugh, was also distantly related to the Kennaughs of Moaney Mooar. (They were all descendants of Gilbert Kennaugh and Eliz.Brew who married in Santon in 1759.) According to my records Moaney Mooar was farmed by the Kennaughs from about 1846 when Margaret Kennaugh (nee Clark), widow of Wm.Kennaugh (1774-1846) inherited a 'right in law to the Rent ' of Moaney Mooar from her brother Ed.Clark who had no direct heirs. It was subsequently farmed by her son and then directly from father to son right down to the present time.

Robert Kinley Kennaugh (1887-1972)
Andrew Kennaugh (1919-1979)
David Kennaugh.
From which branch of the family was your grandfather James descended ?
