In Response To: Quayle ()

Brian, Another thought on your response to my search, My mother visited the I.O.M in 1881 (or the year that the I.O.M had the big centenary?? celebrations) and found relatives of my g/g/grandfather, one was an author of Manx history books. She visited the area that her ancestors had lived and brought some stones back from the land that had been farmed by the family (which I cemented into my garden wall!!! - unfortunately my mother died in 1983, long before I became interested in family history) she told me that the family had donated one field to build a village school and the farmer on the adjacent land had donated a field to grow crops to maintain the school (or vice versa) from your information this farm would have been at Lezayre. When my mother visited in 1981 the school had been converted into a house. This would give an exact location for the farm, can you help on that? Regards Carol.
