William Henry Quayle

William Henry Quayle m Ann Tomlinson 29 August 1863, Kirk Michael, Isle of Man. Children, Elizabeth Jane, christened 13 May 1866: Philip, christened 12 July 1868: Jessie, christened 14 August 1870. (All Lonan, Isle of Man, info from IGI Individual Records). By 1881 census Ann and the three children named above have left the Isle of Man and are settled in Barrow in Furness, Lancashire. 1891 census Philip(25) and Jessie(20) have left and Ann and Elizabeth Jane are at the same address with several boarders. I have discovered Jessie's marriage to John Hexham (1890), I cannot find Philip on 1891 census. Elizabeth Jane married Richard Hayes, 1892 (my g. grandparents) and had 5 children, Philip (my grandfather, born 1894 d 1957), Richard, Jane, Reuben and William.

I would be grateful for any information on William Henry and Ann's life in the Isle of Man. Family history relates that William had a farm, which he lost in some way and went to work as a miner in Laxey where he was killed (1870-1880?) - Ann was only 31 on the 1881 census and is described as a widow, but on Elizabeth Jane and Richard's marriage certificate William's occupation is shown as miner but he is not described as deceased.
