Does anyone know who the parents and grandparents of the Rev William Thomas Radcliffe, author of 'Ellan Vannin', were. I have him as born Douglas, 4 Jan 1816 ''descended from a well known northside family''. There is a possible corresponding christening record for 25 Jan, Douglas with parents John Radcliffe and Catherine Cannon. I also have a record for his grandfather being Thomas Radcliffe (1745-1807, 'The Ruish', married twice, of the Radcliffe Y Vayr/ Ballachurry line, Andreas). I would like to establish who his grandmother was and perhaps also discover who the other wife of Thomas was. Thank you.
