I think it is possible that the John Fargher you are looking for could be have been my Great Grandfather as my Grandparents were definately Benjamin & Kate.
Benjamin died in 1948 aged 80,so this would put his year of birth 1868.
They lived in 40 Craven St. Southampton ( now demolished )
There were to my knowledge the following children
William (My Father) George,Benjamin,Frederick,Henry,Sidney (I think )
