In Response To: Kennaugh/Cringle ()

My records show the following information about Edward Kennaugh & Susanna Cringle.They were married in Malew on 21.2.1837 and had at least 5 children;
John chr.21.4.1839, Robert 21.3.1841, James ? 1844, William 23.5.1848 and
Mary Anne 16.8.1850.
In the 1841 and 1851 census returns they were living in the Blackhill District of Malew and Edward was a shoemaker. In 1881 Edward 72 yrs and Susan 64 were
living in Onchan. He was still a shoemaker.

Edward was probably the son of John Kennaugh (1764-1839) & Elizabeth Cubbon
(1766-1855)who were married in Arbory on 22.12.1792. They had 6 children,
Ann 1794, John 1796, Wm. 1799, Robert 1803, John 1807 and Edward 1808. The family lived at Ballashimmin Farm, Ballasalla.

John Kennaugh was the 4th of 5 children of Thomas Kennaugh and Isabel Fargher
who married in 1759 in Malew and farmed Ballashimmin.

Thomas was the son of Edward Kennaugh and Catherine Hind, married in Malew in 1730. Farmed Ballashimmin.

There are a number of documents,wills etc, about the Kennaughs of Ballashimmin
and if you think this is the right family please get in touch with me directly and I shall post on more information.
