Update to my previous messages on Buttell family. My great grandparents were
Joseph Buttell who married Eliza (I believe she was born a Dougherty - they married 1893 in Whitehaven Cumberland can anyone confirm this?) Elizas mother was I believe a Gilmour and Her mother a Shimmin. I have not confirmed all the facts before Joseph and Eliza had their family but believe this is my family tree.I understand that some of the family moved to New Zealand. Also War Graves Commission Site shows a son and (I believe) a grandson of Joseph and Eliza killed in World War 2. I know Frederick who died was my Grannys brother. She was born Lillian Mary Buttell around 1900. Janet
