Thanks Len thats great information. John Moore (killed in Askam in 1880) was my great grandfather which I've done some research on, but I've struggled to find Isabella's maiden name. Thanks to your assistance I now have her name and parents too. I'll leave the Cowley mystery for another day, but as you say there may not be an answer. By the way, are you related in some way? You have good knowledge on the Kermeen line.
