This was my grt.grand-mother and while I know all about her marriage, children and death and have tracked her in 1881 and 1891, I cannot find her birth or where she was in 1871. I checked many records in the Manx Heritage Library last summer and found out that her father, Thomas, a fisherman from Peel married 3 times. His first wife, Jane CAIN, died in childbirth in 1860, so in 1861, Thomas was back living with his parents and his baby son was being looked after by his br-in-law's family.
On the 24th Jan 1863, he married his wife's widowed sister, Elizabeth KELLY who must have given birth to Kezia shortly before or after this date. Alternatively he had an affair with A.N.Other! They had further children, but Kezia does not appear with the family in 1871(which included Thomas's first son, Elizabeth's children from her first marriage and their joint children. She would have been only about 8/9 at the time and I have looked in the 1871 indexes, in case she was staying/living elsewhere, but...no luck.

Would anyone have any suggestions about how I could find out any more? I'll be very grateful for any help. Many thanks, Jo Swadkin
