Looking for some help here. My grandfather Henry Moore married Emma Gawne (born in N.Y.) on Dec. 25, 1871. On the 1871 census for Marown, district 2, entry 3, Eyrdon Road is John Radcliffe, head, married, 85, retired shoemaker, Douglas. Catheine, wife, married 77, Malew. Jane Gawne, daughter, widow, 57, Malew. Emma E. grand-daughter, unmarried, 17, servant, N.Y. I am trying to trace the father of Emma. I believe he left the island to seek his fortune and returned at a later date. I am still looking for information on Henry. born 1853 in the I.O.M.
