Another Australian website well worth a look at for missing relatives is Terry Foenander’s one at: http://home.coffeeonline.com.au/~tfoen/meldeath.html
His transcripts from 1867 to 1880 are from the Melbourne Argus newspaper which printed monthly lists of deaths which occurred at the Melbourne Hospital, Vic., Australia. Most of the names in the lists are of foreign born residents or visitors. e.g.
William Corkill, labourer, aged 50, native of the Isle of Man; arrived in 1849 by the Bermondsey; died June 18 [1871], of paraplegia
William Cockbill (sic), aged 78 years, native of Isle of Man; arrived 1837, in the Duke of Argyle; died February 9 [1878], of diarrhoea
Ewan Garrett, aged 50, native of the Isle of Man; arrived in 1852, ship unknown; died January 17 [1876], of apoplexy
Elizabeth Gleve, domestic, aged 48, native of the Isle of Man; no further particulars known; died March 17 [1870], of epilepsy
Margaret Kelly, aged 26, native of the Isle of Man; arrived in 1870, by the Great Britain; died January 28 [1876], of disease of knee-joint and amputation
Thomas Quine, aged 26 years, native of Isle of Man; arrived 1877, in the Australia; died June 11 [1878], of morbus cordis
Elizabeth Winzer, 49, born in the Isle of Man, arrived in 1858 in the Lady Anne; consumption.
