There is a story about some McBrooms who left the Isle of Man for America around 1763. They supposedly fought in the American Revolution and subsequently settled in the southern U.S. Does anyone know if there are any McBrooms who live on the Isle of Man? Or, has anyone heard of a similar story concerning this family surname?
