William Corlett

Thank you Caroline for responding in June to my message about Elizabeth Corlett sent in april. Elizabeth was my great-great grandmother born about 1819. Her husband Thomas was a customs officer. My great grandfather John James was born 17.2.1850 in Ramsey, IOM. He married Eunice Eliza Quayle in Manchester in 1876. They had a son, Howard, born about 1878 then my grandmother, Una, born 1881. There do not seem to be any William Corletts in the immediate family, but there are many Corletts on the Isle of Man.
As you live in Toronto, perhaps you could help me in research of my father's uncle? Wilfred Forsyth was born in 1880's near Edinburgh. The men of the family were all freemen of Berwick upon Tweed, Northumberland, for 300 years, but my father married late and had no sons, so broke the chain. Wilfred went to live in Toronto in the early part of the 20th century. He was first a farmer then a vet. During the war and later 1940's he sent my family "food parcels" to help with food rationing in England. He travelled to Manchester in 1952 for a holiday and, maybe, for a regimental reunion, judging by the photograph taken then of Wilfred, myself as a young child, my mother and my grandfather, Henry Forsyth. I would love some information about him, but have not been able to find any on the internet. Perhaps you would have better luck? Thank you in advance, Janet.
