Re: The Hudgens In The Isle

My ancestor William Hudgen (variously spelled in the records as Hugens, Hatson, Hudgson, Hudgsen, Hudson, Hasson and many others !!) was born in the Isle of Man around 1815/6. His father was an Isle of Man farmer John Hudgen (I have not traced him yet).
William settled in Wales (UK) - hence the many spellings of his foreign name (he could not read or write and lived in a 'Welsh speaking' area).
I hope to find his father one day - but YOUR spelling was on his marriage certificate - and his wife could read and write.
