The Public Record Office of Victoria [Australia] had a trial period for VicGold, and they now have an excellent free database giving the names and sometimes ages of immigrants arriving in Victoria, with their ships and dates of arrival from 1852 to 1879. See http://www.prov.vic.gov.au/indexes.htm
