Apologies for the delay in answering but we have been on holiday in Norway and only returned yesterday.
The Thomas Quiggin you mention is unfortunately not related as far as we can find out to the William Thomas Quiggin we are looking for. The information was very interesting and answered our questions about the connection between Kendal Mint cakes and the Isle of Man.
From our recent researches we now think William Thomas Quiggin, christened 26 Oct 1835 emigrated to Australia sometime between 1875 and 1881 but did not take his wife or family with him. Any information about his subsequent life will be of great interest. He was a partner in the Timber merchants, Quiggins, in Douglas before his emigration.
