civil divorce on IoM wasnt available until 1880's (see http://www.ee.surrey.ac.uk/Contrib/manx/famhist/genealgy/civil.htm) but some for of seperation/annulment seemed to occur (rarely) in chuch records .
Constance Radcliffe did a lot of work on the Radcliffes (esp those from Lezayre) have you checked out her work ?
