Re: Surname Kneen

Darren; My wife and I traveled to the IOM to search for the same information. Allthough there were 12 Kneens listed in the Douglas phone book and we called about half of them, none could help us out.
My grandfather emigrated to Canada then to Wisconsin about 1900. He was a Methodist minister. His father and mother (John Kneen and Ellen Kneen along with grandpas sister Emily Cain) are buried in the Kirk Braden cemetary a couple miles east of Douglas on the road to Peel. Allthough the internet comes up with a few Kneens, I don't think there are any really famous people; probably because our name is so hard for people to spell and remember that they just don't take time to check out how wonderful we really are! We know though don't we? Jim Kneen
